Echocardiography

Stress echocardiogram

A stress echocardiogram is an ultrasound examination of the heart done after exercise. This non-invasive procedure allows for an accurate depiction of the heart’s anatomy, putting doctors in a position to assess blood flow in the heart and especially in the coronary vessels.

Transesophageal echocardiogram

A transesophageal echocardiogram (TEE) is a special form of heart ultrasound examination done via the food pipe. As this is located very close to the heart, a TEE helps doctors make detailed assessments as to specific diseases of the heart atriums, valves and the large vessels close to the heart.
